[fill in the blank] international

It’s warm outside. While it’s certainly awesome that the warmer weather will undoubtedly bring much more exposed skin on the streets and sidewalks of philadelphia, sadly it also means that I will be accosted by more bums, and (worst of all) more people that want to sign me up to donate money.

Children International, for example, has employed college aged, attractive young people to canvas the sidewalks during busy foot-traffic times to solicit for donations. they have a binder, they wear their fancy jackets. Worst of all, they approach you like an old friend:

“Hey buddy, can I ask you a quick question?”

It’s annoying.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m empathetic with the plight of the poor person, BELIEVE ME, I know what it’s like.

And therein lies my point. Eighteen dollars a month is WAY too much for me to shell out, no matter how altruisticly spent.
